Daily — 3 tasks
Check blade tension
Verify blade tension and tracking. Release tension when not in use for extended periods.
Weekly — 4 tasks
Clean dust collection
Empty bags, check for blockages in ductwork. Inspect filter condition.
Lubricate ways
Apply dry PTFE lubricant to lead screws and linear rails. NO oil or grease on CNC lead screws.
Lubricate table
Wax bed with paste wax (no silicone). Check knife height and outfeed table alignment.
Check blade guard
Verify blade guard operation and return spring tension. Check arm bearings.
Monthly — 4 tasks
Clean/replace filters
Check and clean air filters. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty.
Lubricate bearings
NLGI #2 lithium grease (non-EP) on all bearing points. Check feed roller pressure.
Check alignment
Verify blade-to-miter-slot alignment. Check fence parallelism.
Calibrate fence
Verify fence stop accuracy with tape measure. Adjust if cuts are off.
Quarterly — 2 tasks
Inspect wiring
Check all electrical connections. Inspect heating elements for wear.
Replace bags
Replace filter bags when static pressure indicates blockage. Shake-down mechanism check.
As needed — 1 tasks
Change belts
Replace sanding belts when worn or glazed. Keep spare 36, 60, 80, 120 grit on hand.
Notes
Key rules: No silicone anywhere in woodshop. NLGI #2 lithium non-EP grease is shop standard. CNC lead screws get dry PTFE only.
